Is signature music a good trombone brand?

I think my friend has a Signature. It plays great and sounds great. If it isn't a Signature, than it's probably a Yamaha. However, when you buy cheap instruments, they don't always sound the best and are produced rapidly for money. If you want to look into well known brands like Yamaha, then make sure it isn't a knock off.
