John Kennedy said' Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country'?

So, what did he mean? I got up today and I asked myself the same question. What can I do for my country and so far I can't think of a good answer. Nothing is what I'm thinking right now. Should I be more patriotic or am I just a realist?
